Covid19 nightmares last night.
Death, hunger, conflict. Not good.

In the morning bees on the hypericum next to the back door,
their hum soothes my soul.

And later a male blackbird washing in the birdbath, quite gently for a change,
quiet water slopping in dull summer light.

I am unsure. The virus is still with us.
The pain of this moment is intense and peculiar.
