I thought I'd have a go at making a larger piece of  flower printed cloth. I steamed this one, and I was slightly disappointed that I didn't get such exciting colours as I had by just pressing. But, drying in the glorious sunshine just slightly blown by a light breeze I managed to take this photograph that shows the marks of the leaves and flowers quite well.

And some flotsam and jetsam.

Just a few photographs from my trip to Cley because walking feeds my dreams, my heart, my soul.

I'm not going to claim any gift for making videos but the butterflies on the Cley to Blakeney coast path were something wonderful.

The roses this year have been lovely. Yesterday I went to Cley-next-the-sea to see the NNEP contemporary art exhibition at the church and walking back through the village I had an opportunity to photograph some gorgeous blousey blooms. I like a rose that smells and sometimes the big flowers are not so well scented but the petals in every stage of being are beautiful to me, from freshly unfurling out of the bud to faded and dropping.

It's been a month of exhibitions, starting with the Bishops's Prize in the Hostry at Norwich Cathedral then the degree show at NUA and lastly the Art of Norwich show in St Margaret's Church, Norwich. The first two have finished and been dismantled and today is the last day of St Margaret's, I am taking down my work this evening.
Exhibiting my work gives me a strange feeling. I am pleased to be putting it up, but it is very exposing,  and I am still quite new to the business and shy about putting myself on display. There is a trembling hope in me that my work will perhaps give someone a moment of pleasure.

It's amazing what a little peace and quiet does for mind, body and soul. Today has been the first day in ages when I really have had nothing to do apart from please myself.
So, I have been turning my compost heaps 1,2,3. There were plenty of bugs and worms but no robin this time. And my creative juices are beginning to flow again so I've been sampling, working with flowers and leaves to create prints. Quite a few of  my artist friends on facebook do this and I've been thinking to try for quite a while. The results are interesting and I now have a few ideas of how to take my samples further.
